Question: Learning to Read

I have a question for my blog readers this morning.

What are your favorite resources for teaching reading?
I'm in the midst of this stage in our home education,
have been trying different books and programs with my kiddos,
and while I think things are going well enough, I am curious about others' experiences.

I'd love to hear what works for you!

  1. My kids have all started out by watching Leapfrog videos to help with reconingtion and sound. Then I have been using the Language Lessons by Queen homeschool and Abeka readers. All my boys seem to be loving it, and my 3 (almost 4 yr. old daughter) has been asking to learn to read so about to start her on the books. My boys also loved the read/sing/spell books. They are short and they love finding Gus.

  2. I had heard good things about the Leapfrog videos. Thanks for sharing the resources that works well for you and that your kids liked.

Thanks for your comment today! I love reading your thoughts, too. :-)
