Recognizing & Rejoicing in the Ordinary Beauty of Our Family Life and Home Education
we love these. they have quite a few of them.
Great animation of the Ted talk to illustrate how standardized our lifes are being made. To think that we have agency??? seems like standardization is the the opposite of agency.
Yes, I agree, the TED talks really make one think. I hadn't thought about how Standardization is the opposite of agency--I can see how you would see it that way. Standardization serves the greater good of the "economies"...but what about the individual child's life purpose? Aren't we all meant for more than just a means of increasing our country's wealth?Another reason why we homeschool. We can freely explore the reasons why we each are here and find our own life purpose.
Love this, Eve. I am in the process of starting a Montessori charter school and my goal is to avoid the standardization of which Sir Ken Robinson speaks. I want my child, and the other children in the community, to have a LOVE for learning.
Hi, Jenn! Glad you stopped by. I agree, a love for learning is so needed for this generation of kids coming into schools now. I wish you well in your goal!
Thanks for your comment today! I love reading your thoughts, too. :-)
